Bio
Painting for Sossio is ‘The Power of Doing’ – a journey in ‘Dreaming’ in which the artist, in a state of suspension from all descriptions of the world around him hunts his own shadows, aligning the internal and external worlds and renouncing the search for any style, technique, or fashion.
The aim is to capture one’s inner reflections and transform states of being into material, creating life with every gesture in this paradoxical challenge to reveal a forgotten impeccability.
The artist sees the external world as a mirror which reflects the fragmented image of one’s own self, and he, like a warrior faces each image without justifying on the adventure of the search for his own integrity.
Art, as life itself, for Sossio, is the real reflection of his Dream which manifests itself in every detail as in the completed work with an alchemical transformation, a complete reversal of the world as it is most commonly seen, which upholds the observer as the real and only creator of the world he lives in.

From 1968 to 1972 he studies art at the Fine Art High School of Naples in S. Maria in Costantinopoli. Those are years of big revolution for the New School of Naples and Sossio is a student of many different painters like Domenico Spinosa, Armando De Stefano, Gianni Pisani, who are all important incentive figures on a cultural level, with whom he accomplishes his first part of formation.
In 1972, he holds his first solo show at the L’incontro di Napoli art gallery. In the same year he applies to the fine art academy in Naples, where he studies painting technique with Maestro Domenico Spinosa.
From 1976 to 1978, he takes part to numerous solo shows, still held in the same circuit of Galleries of Naples, being coherent with that atmosphere of cultural and artistic renewal of his city.
In 1979, he holds the teaching post of Pictorial Disciplines at the Artistic high school of Naples. During the 80s, he moves to Tuscany where he starts his real interior and stylistic research, at the same time as his businessman profession.
The atelier where he works and lives is in Versilia. On the canvas of that period, some linguistic modules recurrently come back and they are connected to colour and to the absence of figurative shapes. The experience of these years is fundamental for his stylistic path, particularly for the inspiration received from the enlightening interpretation of the creative Universe, born from the encounter with the Dreamer.
